Iron ore futures opened higher and closed lower on Wednesday in daytime trading at the Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE).

Iranian media IRNA reported that Iran has defined 16 development projects in the steel sector which are aimed to boost the country’s output of steel products by 19 million tonnes in a course of five years.

Adjusted year-to-date production through January 11, 2020 was 3,008,000 net tons, at a capability utilization rate of 82.1 percent.
