China produced 78.98 million tonnes in March, down 1.7 percent year on year, as mills cut back production due to relatively high stockpiles and weak profits amid the novel coronavirus epidemic, according to government data.

Output of raw coal in China fell 0.5 percent year on year to 830 million tonnes in the first quarter of 2020, official data showed.

China imported 260 million metric tons of iron ore, 130 million tons of crude oil and 95.78 million tons of coal in the first quarter of 2022.
