The materials were mainly imported from Brazil (5177mt), South Africa (4452mt), Australia (1522mt), Canada (1518mt), Norway (1127mt) and Thailand (1106mt).

In Jan-May, 2014, America totally imported 78,280mt of silicon metal, and the import volumes by countries were as follows, Brazil (34,487mt), South Africa (16,801mt), Australia (7,533mt), Canada (3,400mt), Norway (3,762mt) and Thailand (4,803mt).
