[Ferro-alloys.com] It was ackonwledged that Jiang Su DeLong of China planned to build an nickel smelter with annual output of 3million tons in Konawe Industrial Zone of Southeast Sulawesi, Indochinese.
Andrew Zhu, the General Manager of Delong expected that the ferronickel project would cost USD5billion, which would be finished in 2019 or 2020.
According to Andrew Zhu, the whole project is divided into three stages. In the first phase, the smelter of 600thousand tons FeNi would be built, which planned to be finished at the end of 2015. In Phase 2, refinery of 1.2million tons FeNi was planned, which was expected to be completed in 2019-2020.
In addition to the smelter, the power station and the port were also in the plan.
