Brazil’s manganese ore export volumes fell 14.8% in July on an annual basis, as increased volumes sent to China and Norway were not enough to offset decreases in shipments to France and Venezuela.
The country exported a total of 166,098 tonnes of manganese ore last month, against 194,846 tonnes a year earlier, according to figures from the country’s foreign trade ministry, Mdic. In June 2015, Brazil shipped abroad a total of 213,647 tonnes of the ore. Export revenues fell 46.5% year-on-year in July, to $11.46 million fob, hit by drops in manganese prices in 2015.
