In 2015, China's crude steel production has declined for the first time in nearly 30 years, China’s crude steel production was 8.04 billion tons, down by 2.3% year on year; those for scrap consumption has also declined for the first time. China’s scrap consumption totaled 82 million tons in 2015, down by 6.4 million tons compared to the same period of 2014.
	
	In 2016, scarp consumption will depend primarily on the demand for steel and crude steel production, the international iron ore market and technology upgrading and structural optimization.
