Crude steel production fell 1.6% to 113,033 tons in August from a year earlier, but 4.1% more than 108,498 tons in July, according to data released by the Colombian Steel Producers Commission.
According to CPA, production in August was 116262 tons, up 4.2% from a year earlier, but 1.3% lower than last month.
In the first eight months of this year, Colombia's crude steel production reached 713706 tons, down from 910,202 tons in the same period last year. From January to August, the output of long-term steel decreased 22.8% to 701,975 tons.
