[Ferro-Alloys.com] Conservation efforts have transformed an old mining area into an oasis in Handan, north China's Hebei Province.

As the birthplace of the Fuyang River, the area is rich in water resources. But the water environment had deteriorated over the years due to coal mining and other factors.

Alarmed by the worsening environment, the local government launched a wetland restoration project at the end of 2018.

The change in the environment has also improved the quality of local people's lives.
