Electric arc furnace (EAF) platemaker Nucor has increased its plate prices by $40/short ton (st).
	The company will raise its discrete plate ex-works price to a minimum of $1,570/st, according to a 19 April price announcement.
	Pricing for normalized and quench and tempered plate will also increase by $40/st.
	With the announcement Nucor is now accepting orders for June. The move is the first since 13 March, when Nucor increased plate prices by $50/st and SSAB Americas increased its plate prices by $80/st, effective for orders confirmed to ship from the week of 4 June onward.
	The Argus US plate ex-works assessment has increased by 10pc since the beginning of the year to $1,600/st this week. argusmedia
