Print[ferro-alloys.com] GLENCORE Xstrata has called time on its $80 million experiment to juice up returns at its Ernest Henry copper-gold mine near Cloncurry in northwest Queensland by also producingmagnetite -- the low-grade iron ore, which hosts the copper and gold mineralisation.
The magnetite extraction plant is to be mothballed mid-next month because it has become a loss-making sideline to the main event of copper and gold production.
